Celebrated Author Balances Work, Family, and Fertility Treatment
While fertility treatment can be challenging on its own, imagine juggling it alongside multiple public-facing careers, family demands, and frequent trans-Atlantic travel!
As a successful marketing professional, science fiction author, and sometimes-rapper, Sophie Partlow is no stranger to multitasking. Originally from Charlotte, NC, but currently a resident in the UK, Partlow is happily married, mother to an adopted child, and hoping to expand her family. In a recent Essence article, she opened up about her unique fertility journey, which hasn’t been easy. On top of multiple unsuccessful intrauterine inseminations (IUI) and in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles, she must repeatedly travel to and from her home in the UK to her chosen fertility clinic, Reproductive Specialists of the Carolinas, all while meeting her everyday responsibilities.
Yet this Charlotte native remains optimistic, as the RSC team provides the motivation needed to continue her efforts. “... I think that’s what drives me forward is knowing that, again, we’re going to potentially at the end of this road see a beautiful version of both of us together,” Partlow adds. “I think that’s what really is exciting for me. I can’t wait to meet who this person’s going to be.” You can read the full article here.
